“In a bustling city where dreams and destinies converge, the paths of Taylor and Aaron were destined to intertwine. Both found themselves attending prestigious colleges in Atlanta, Georgia—Taylor at Spelman College and Aaron at Morehouse College. Despite sharing the same vibrant campus and countless mutual acquaintances, their stories never crossed.
After graduation, life led them on separate journeys. Taylor set her sights on the bright lights of New York City, where she embarked on a fulfilling career. Meanwhile, Aaron established his professional endeavors in Atlanta and Philadelphia. Ten years passed, marked by change, growth, and the occasional fleeting thought of what might have been.
Then, a digital connection sparked an unexpected twist in their stories. Aaron, noticing Taylor was now in Chicago, decided to seize the opportunity and reached out online. Despite his initial messages receiving no response for months, the universe had an amusing plan in store. Taylor couldn’t resist the magnetic charm of Aaron’s comedic humor, prompting her to finally respond.
As fate would have it, Aaron had an upcoming trip to the Midwest to visit family. But this time, the trip was not solely for family; it held the promise of a new chapter. He extended his stay to ensure he didn’t miss the chance to meet Taylor in person. Their first date was a rendezvous that would change their lives forever.

Tell us about your Big Day:
“Our wedding took place on May 25th, 2024, at the Armour House in Lake Forest, IL. It was a day filled with heartfelt moments and beautiful traditions. My husband Aaron and I are a proud SpelHouse (Spelman and Morehouse College) couple who met after college during the pandemic. Despite having a long-distance relationship for a year (with me in Chicago and Aaron in Atlanta), we got engaged in dreamy Lake Como and brought a touch of its magic to our wedding. From our European-style venue selection to the stunning floral arrangements and Bridgerton-inspired decor, every detail was thoughtfully planned to reflect our unique journey together.
Family is everything to us, and one of the most memorable highlights was my surprise mother-daughter dance, a deeply moving experience for everyone present. As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, I also shared a special serenade and stroll with my linesister, which recently went viral. These moments were beautifully captured by our photographer, Arielle Teft, whose editorial style added an artistic touch to every image.
