A Timeless Chicago Love Story
At Dimitra’s Bridal Couture, we love when a gown finds its bride in the most unexpected way — and Nicole’s story is the perfect example of how the right dress simply clicks. For her elegant celebration with Brendan, Nicole chose the breathtaking Trudy gown by Enzoani, paired with the ethereal Umara cape, creating a bridal look that felt both timeless and uniquely her.
Nicole described how her gown made her feel on her wedding day in three perfect words: confident, elevated, and graceful — everything a bride deserves to feel when she walks down the aisle.
Finding “The One” at Dimitra’s
Nicole first visited Dimitra’s on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, still unsure of exactly what she wanted. She had only visited one other bridal boutique and was searching for a gown that truly matched the vision she had for her wedding.
From the moment she stepped inside, the Dimitra’s team took the time to listen — not only to the style she was describing, but also to the feeling she wanted for her wedding day and the details of her venue.
When the team first brought out the Enzoani Trudy gown, Nicole admits she initially thought, “no way.”
But the moment she slipped into the dress, everything changed.
Something about the gown felt different — special.
Even after visiting other boutiques, Nicole couldn’t stop thinking about it. The next morning, as soon as Dimitra’s opened, she called and asked if she could return.
Instead of retrying the original sample, she stepped into the Trudy in a size closer to her own, and that was the moment she knew she had found her dress.
There was just one more detail she couldn’t stop thinking about — the dramatic Umara cape.
The Dimitra’s team went above and beyond, contacting the designer to confirm the cape could be purchased separately. With that final piece, Nicole’s bridal look felt completely perfect.
During fittings, Nicole also decided to customize the neckline so it would pair beautifully with the cape while reflecting her personal style. The seamstress at Dimitra’s executed the adjustment flawlessly, bringing Nicole’s vision to life.

A Love Story Meant to Be
Nicole and Brendan’s story began in the most unexpected way on St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago in 2015.
Nicole was visiting the city for the weekend when she sprained her ankle and called her cousin, who happened to be at a friend’s apartment. That friend, she would later learn, was Brendan.
Nicole spent the evening resting in the apartment and eventually headed home — only to realize the next morning that she had lost her wallet.
A week later, Brendan found it and returned it through Nicole’s cousin.
At the time, it seemed like a small, forgettable moment.
But months later, fate stepped in again.
When Nicole’s cousin married Brendan’s college baseball teammate, the two found themselves seated together at the singles table. This time, the connection was instant — easy, natural, and familiar in a way that felt meant to be.
That night became the true beginning of their love story.
A Wedding Day to Remember
Nicole and Brendan’s wedding day was everything they had dreamed of — classic, elegant, and deeply personal.
The ceremony was filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and a few happy tears as Nicole walked down the aisle surrounded by their closest family and friends.
“I felt so radiant and happy walking down the aisle,” Nicole shared — even if she admits she was concentrating on not tripping!
Their reception was just as unforgettable.
The couple shared their first dance to the acoustic version of “Cinema” by Gary Go, and by the end of the night they closed the dance floor with the Skrillex remix of the same song — a playful and perfect way to bookend the celebration.
Between those moments, the dance floor stayed packed. Guests enjoyed an anniversary dance, the crowd-opening classic “Old Time Rock & Roll,” and even a fun outfit change from Nicole as she danced to “Dancing Queen” and “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” with live saxophone vibes.
One of Nicole’s favorite moments of the day was taking photos at the University of Chicago, where the fall foliage was just beginning to turn.
With the warm autumn colors and the rich navy bridesmaids dresses, the setting created the most magical backdrop — and some of Nicole’s favorite photos from the day.
“It was the perfect day,” Nicole shared. “I still can’t get over it — and I’ll definitely never forget it. I only wish I could wear my dress again!”
