Emily married Jacob at Toast in Ankeny, Iowa, a rustic venue with a modern, chic edge. Every detail of their celebration felt thoughtfully chosen, from the romantic florals and vintage-inspired cake to the playful disco balls hanging above the dance floor.
Making Alva Her Own
For her bridal look, Emily chose Alva by Leah Da Gloria, a beautifully structured gown known for its feminine silhouette and couture-level craftsmanship. While the original design immediately caught her eye, Emily worked with the Dimitra’s Bridal team to customize the gown to reflect her personal style and the look she envisioned.
She replaced the gown’s nude lining with white, creating a softer and more traditional finish while still allowing the intricate corset and draping details to shine. To complete the look, Emily added delicate lace sleeves and a lace-trimmed veil. The combination felt timeless, ethereal, and completely her own.
Customization can transform a beautiful wedding gown into one that truly feels made for the bride wearing it. Emily’s thoughtful changes honored the original Alva design while bringing her own romantic vision to life.
A Celebration Filled With Unforgettable Details
Emily and Jacob’s wedding struck the perfect balance between rustic romance and modern glamour. Disco balls adorned with clouds of delicate baby’s breath hung overhead, adding a fun and unexpected touch to the venue.
The newlyweds celebrated with a champagne tower before dancing the night away with their family and friends on a black-and-white checkered dance floor. They finished the evening by cutting a vintage-inspired, heart-shaped wedding cake—a sweet and charming detail that perfectly complemented the romantic atmosphere.
